Today I was shopping in a supermarket in Sasazuka named “LIFE”. I needed to buy daily life stuff and when I passed by the candy aisle, I was pleasantly surprised. I found “sour orange” flavored KitKats!
This is another limited edition (期間限定) flavor of KitKat. It seems like the newer flavors of KitKat are getting tastier and tastier. This one is no exception. I opened it with only a small expectation of a sour flavor because the Apple Vinegar and Lemon Vinegar flavors were not very sour. This one seemed to be about the same at first. Opening the package you can smell a nice orange fragrance. The KitKat bar is the normal color of a standard milk chocolate KitKat. The first bite is so delicious if you like orange chocolate. After you start chewing it up a bit you can taste the “sour powder” (すっぱいパウダー入り）that they added to the cookie layer of the candy. It is a very pleasing taste because the sour powder does not overpower any of the other flavors.
This is one of the newest flavors of KitKat for summer 2009. If you like orange chocolate and KitKats, then this is the best combination of the two and you need to run to the store and try this!
